Health Care Costs: Sununu Stands With Bush and Makes Health Care More Expensive
John Sununu supports George Bush's disastrous health care policies that are hurting New Hampshire families. Just like Bush, Sununu consistently puts the insurance and pharmaceutical industry first and families last. John Sununu even told New Hampshire voters to "stop complaining about health care." Middle class New Hampshire families are struggling with rising health care costs, and John Sununu has only made the problem worse.
- In December of 2006, John Sununu told New Hampshire businessmen to "stop complaining about health care." [1]
- Sununu promised to support importing cheap, safe prescription drugs from Canada. [2] But in Washington, Sununu has voted five times against importing safe, cheaper prescription drugs from Canada and other countries. [3]
- Just this summer, Sununu stood with George Bush and the insurance industry and voted three times to protect extra profits for insurance companies instead of fixing Medicare, endangering access to health care for over 200,000 New Hampshire seniors. [4]
- Sununu even voted 28 times to cut or provide insufficient funds for veterans' health care. [5]
Health care costs are already squeezing New Hampshire families, and John Sununu has just made the problem worse by standing with Bush and the insurance industries. He has made it harder for veterans, seniors, people with disabilities and middle class families to afford health care, but nothing will change until we change senators.
