Need Sununu to change position
To the Editors,
More and more, people are understanding that our nation must decrease its dependence upon oil by increasing the development of alternative energy sources. Voters need to let Sen. John Sununu know that his opposition to tax break incentives for wind or solar power companies is no longer acceptable.
Such incentives exist now but will epire at the end of this month unless legislation to continue them is passed. Defeat would be a blow to the expansion of alternative energy sources much needed by our nation. With a significant presence of solar companies in New Hampshire, job losses could result from Sununu’s opposition.
Twice legislation extending tax credits to encourage development of alternative energy sources has come before Sen. Sununu. Twice it has been defeated by one vote. Twice Sununu has voted against it.
As our nation stands in need of encouraging energy production from renewable sources, and as now the fledgling solar power industry is a part of New Hampshire’s economy, and as massive subsidies continue for oil and gas and coal producers, please join me in contacting Sen. Sununu (202-224-2841) asking that he this time vote to continue tax credits for companies in the wind and solar power industries.
