Energy Efficient Vote Would Boost Economy
To the Editors,
Sens. John Sununu and Judd Gregg had an opportunity to support clean energy and efficiency by voting for the economic stimulus bill that extended crucial incentives, but they didn’t.
Failing to quickly renew these clean energy incentives will snuff out the few bright spots in our troubled economy; 75,000 hard-working Americans stand to be thrown out of work in the wind industry alone unless Congress acts.
Instead of lifting the economy up, some senators have decided to kick it while it is down. A study by the Blue/Green Alliance shows that the right investments in renewables could create more than 820,000 new jobs nationwide, including 5,000 jobs right here in New Hampshire. They can hopefully right this wrong and show their commitment to a clean, strong energy economy in the upcoming months.
