To the editor:
Sen. Sununu has done it again. He has changed his positions on an issue during this re-election year in an effort to appear as a moderate, independent-minded thinker of the Republican Party. In an interview with the editorial board of The Nashua Telegraph, Sununu stated that he opposed the original economic stimulus package because it contained tax cuts for oil and coal companies. What a change of heart from Sununu, considering he was the deciding vote against an energy bill just a few weeks ago that would have gotten rid of $13 billion in tax subsidies to the big oil companies. Furthermore, Sununu has received over $200,000 in campaign contributions from his big oil friends, such as Exxon.
The important thing to remember is that Sununu is, and always has been, a puppet to the Bush agenda, and a strong advocate for the Republican Party. These are priorities not reflective upon New Hampshire, but of Sununu's conservative, Republican friends in Washington, D.C.
